AC/DC: World's Largest Convention To Be Held In Early August

April 24, 2006

Eat Cat 2 Productions — the organizers of the Big Ball, the world's largest AC/DC convention — have announced the details of this year's event, set to take place August 4-6 at the North East Wales Institute (NEWI) in Wrexham, Wales.

Fans will once again see the return of the now infamous Big Ball stage, a replica of AC/DC's touring stage from the "Back In Black" era, plus 17 bands and DJs, aftershow parties, films, record fair, guitar workshops, seminars and book signings.

THE SENSATIONAL ALEX HARVEY BAND headline the Friday on the main stage. Friends of AC/DC since the mid-'70s, these guys asked to play, in order to pay their respects to late AC/DC singer Bon Scott. Also scheduled are guitar workshops by Stic and Simon from DIRTYDC, and a seminar hosted by author Paul Stenning, who penned "Two Sides To Every Glory", the AC/DC biography released last year through Chrome Dreams. AC/DC tribute sets will come from VOLTS, the recently reformed Scottish tribute to both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson; HELLS BELLES — the female tribute from Germany; HOLE FULL OF LOVE, the second jaw-dropping German tribute; the incredible ACTION IN DC, the Dutch lads who should be called DC IN DISGUISE... they're THAT close!; and BONFIRE from Los Angeles.
